Roman Tablet, Welzheim

One of the things I have always enjoyed about actual Roman carvings and artifacts is that you can plainly see the flaws. Nothing is ever perfect when it comes to things like this, which is a tablet dug up from the grounds of the old Roman fort at Welzheim in Germany. This is simply displayed outside; it is from the era of the Limes and it is not in a museum. It's out in the wind and rain where anyone can walk up and look at it.
