The British government has come out, along party lines or ideological affiliations, and it has given a fairly damning opinion on the empire of Rupert Murdoch, et al. This opinion is sternly worded, but it needs to be backed with something definitive, such as, "you are no longer allowed to operate a media company in Britain" or "you are facing criminal charges for your negligence."
Given how much money News Corporation has lost, it isn't outside the realm of possibility that investors will get tired of seeing Rupert and James Murdoch looking hangdog and sorry. And it is entirely possible that they can and will face charges in the United States. Oh, who wouldn't love to see that?
