This is Our Vietnam

Even though nobody cares, no one is paying attention, and no one gives a shit about the U.S. military in Afghanistan, Iraq, and wherever else, someone should care. Someone should be paying attention. The problem is, we have people who don't care about the troops and just want to use images of them to advance their call for a 28th Amendment to the Constitution. Well, we don't need one. We need to bring our men and women home from the war. It's as simple as that. And I'm not going to use a picture of one of them to make that point. I'm going to speak as an American citizen and say that my country needs to bring the troops back home.

I think that the intensity of the fight in Afghanistan is reaching a point where there's just no point to it anymore. We can't kill our way out, our six months are up, and it's time to let the Chinese have their silk road.

When a United States Marine who is in combat half way around the world says "this is our Vietnam," then this really is our Vietnam and that's the end of the debate.

The end of the debate.
