The day when things are done with inspiration and creativity are over. These things are now done with committees, compromises, and willful indifference. The art of coming up with something innovative and compelling is a dead art.
Here's an idea--do away with mascots, websites, and whatever else and just tell people what they need to know. Build an app for mobile phones that tells you what you need to know about conservation specific to the K-State area. Include information as to why using dim light bulbs is actually an intelligent decision. Make it free, and include a notice that buzzes whenever you are near a merchant that supports environmental causes (and then support that merchant).
