Poachers and a Famous White Rhino

I checked on the rather anemic progress of my Twitter account today, and this caught my eye:

In the early 1990s, I purchased and read the original "Last Chance To See" by Mark Carwardine and Douglas Adams and I remember thinking that it was one of the best examples of using celebrity and activism to draw attention to an issue. And here it is, long after the passing of Adams, Stephen Fry has been carrying the mantle, helping to draw attention to the eventual extinction of numerous species throughout the world.

Here's a photo of Max, the Rhino:

What a tragedy.

For advice on how to enter the field of conservation, please check out Mr. Carwardine's website.
