A Day Late and a Dollar Short

Remember when Republicans would always question whether or not Democrats cared about our military?

Seven American sailors are unaccounted for after a Navy destroyer collided with a merchant ship southwest of Yokosuka, Japan, early Saturday local time, the Navy said.

The USS Fitzgerald, a 505-foot destroyer, collided with a Philippine container vessel at approximately 2:30 a.m. Saturday local time (1:30 p.m. ET Friday), the U.S. 7th Fleet said. The incident occurred about 56 nautical miles off Yokosuka.

The ship, which had experienced some flooding after the collision, was tugged back to Yokosuka Naval Base, south of Tokyo.

Hell, we're living it every day. Trump's a real Johnny on the Spot here:

The USS Fitzgerald incident happened yesterday, and Trump got around to saying something about it today. He's either working hard or hardly working, and at least he walks around in pants, so it's all good. If Rod Rosenstein had been on that ship, Trump would have said something in five minutes.

Oh, and, being nitpicky, the ship was towed back to Yokosuka by a tug boat. I don't know who's been 'tugged' except for perhaps Mr. Trump by his Russian hooker lady friends.
