Trump Pats Marine on the Back

I can assure you of one thing. If President Obama had patted a Marine, in full salute, on the back, we would see so much outrage from Republicans, it would break the Internet in an hour. There's no way he would have escaped criticism for coming into physical contact with a member of the military performing a salute and a million barrels of ink would be spilled by columnists and pundits trying to come up with a way of expressing shock, horror, and indignation at such a breach of protocol.

In this case, a man with absolutely no knowledge whatsoever of customs and courtesies thinks he's in the right when he pats this Marine on the back. The poor kid probably thought he was being assaulted by a stumbling bag of orange circus peanuts. Jeebus.

Never, ever touch a member of the military while they're rendering a salute. Just. Don't. Do. It.

Here Are All the Guns President Obama Took Away

You know, sometimes, I think President Trump is a pretty stupid guy:

President Donald Trump promised guns rights advocates gathered in Atlanta on Friday that he'd come through for them as they did for him during the 2016 campaign.

"The eight-year assault on your Second Amendment freedoms has come to a crashing end," Trump told the members of the National Rifle Association, assuring them that they now "have a true friend and champion in the White House."

"I will never, ever infringe on the right of the people to keep and bear arms," Trump said. "Never ever."

President Obama didn't take away anyone's guns. All he tried to do was keep guns out of the hands of criminals, the insane, and anyone who shouldn't have a gun. When Trump said he won't infringe on the right of the people to keep and bear arms, he did so behind Secret Service protection in a room where guns were banned.

Anyone who thinks that the Democrats are wrong on gun control hasn't paid attention for the last eight years.

Trump is Playing With the Lives of Millions of South Koreans

North Korea is not an "imminent" or "urgent" threat to the national security of the United States. This is just idiotic blustering from the media turning into disinformation for gullible Americans. No, the people who are at risk live within forty or fifty miles of the DMZ that runs between North and South Korea. Every living soul in Seoul is within range of North Korean artillery and missile fire, the likes of which would be devastating if it were ever unleashed.

About four in 10 Americans say North Korea is an immediate threat to the US in the wake of the nation's recently stepped-up attempts to posture itself as a military threat to the US and others, according to a new CNN/ORC poll.

In the poll released Thursday, about 37% of respondents consider North Korea an immediate threat to the security of the US. The  new CNN/ORC poll was released in the same week that President Donald Trump summoned the full Senate to the White House for a briefing on the North Korean threat.

The only reason why this is considered a threat is because Trump made it one. He invented a crisis out of thin air. The North Korean regime, much like Trump's own regime, thrives on fear, chaos, and a cult of personality.

There are numerous entities trying to hype the threat of the largest missiles in the North Korean inventory--do not believe them. They are theoretically capable of reaching the Pacific Northwest if nothing goes wrong; but, so what? One submarine can obliterate the northern half of the peninsula. The North Koreans know that it would be the end of sunshine and parades and what passes for fun in Pyongyang if they were to somehow make that missile fly as far as Seattle.

We have one fool who is just as big of a fool as the other, and they don't know how to walk away from a chance to demonstrate to the world who is crazier. That's not an existential threat to the United States, but it is one to everyone within range of a conventional weapon in South Korea. I remember apartment building after apartment building, as far as the eye can see, when I last visited Seoul. It is a thriving, densely packed, wonderful city full of people who deserve to live without fear. Due to the personal failings of Donald J. Trump, every one of them now has a reason to wonder what tomorrow is going to bring. The reason why we got here is because Republicans couldn't wait to vote for someone who would make liberals mad.

Get back to me on how this all turns out.

Spicey Has Lost His Mind

This is how Spicey gets himself out of a jam:

At the White House press briefing on Thursday, spokesman Sean Spicer was asked if the administration had properly vetted Flynn before naming him as national security adviser. Instead, Spicer suggested it was the Obama administration that had dropped the ball on Flynn.

His argument seemed to be that since the Obama administration last issued Flynn a security clearance in 2016, the Trump administration wasn't responsible for vetting him further than that. (Flynn served in the Obama administration as the head of the Defense Intelligence Agency from 2012-2014 when he was eventually fired. He then worked as a foreign agent for Turkey during the 2016 campaign.)

"My only point is that when General Flynn came into the White House he had an active security clearance that was issued during the Obama administration, with all of the information that is being discussed that occurred in 2015," Spicer said, referring to the payment from Russia.

My only point is that it was the Obama Administration that fired Flynn because he was unfit to lead the Defense Intelligence Agency. That should have ended Flynn's career, but it didn't, because the Trump Regime needed someone who had credibility on intelligence and defense matters.

Flynn, of course, had none of those things.

At no point during any of this discussion was it made apparent that Sean Spicer has actually lost what is left of his mind. Forced to defend the fact that Donald Trump hired Michael Flynn, and then fired him for lying to Mike Pence, Spicer literally went for the only defense available.

"Everything is President Obama's fault."

Get used to hearing that phrase in the weeks and months ahead.

It's Okay When White People Do It

Never mind how ridiculous it is for people to complain about how President Obama is going to get paid to speak to people who are willing to pay him for his services (that's capitalism, by the way). Never mind how silly it is for a white guy who gets paid to write things on the Internet to complain about how a successful former President is going to raise money for his foundation, his daughters, and his future (nobody said shit when Reagan, Bush, or Bush did exactly the same thing). Never mind how stupid all of this is (and, boy, is this a humdinger).

What matters is that what President Obama does now means his entire presidency was a failure if he doesn't hide in a cave and give away all his money and say nice things about Republicans. This is all courtesy of an obsequious media that is simply not going to be bothered about hundreds if not thousands of conflicts of interest regarding the Trump family and his cabinet appointees. Matt Yglesias, what the hell were you thinking? Oh, this will get some clicks! Woo hoo!

Obama should take seriously the message it sends to those young people if he decides to make a career out of buckraking. He knows that Hillary Clinton isn't popular with the youth cohort the way he is. And he knows that populists on both the left and the right want to make a sweeping ideological critique of all center-left politics, not just a narrow personal one of Clinton. Does Obama want them to win that battle and carry the day with the message that mainstream politics is just a moneymaking hustle?

Oh, shit.

"I never said I didn't pay taxes," Trump maintained. "[Hillary Clinton] said, 'Maybe you didn't pay taxes.' And I said, 'Well, that would make me smart,' because tax is a big payment. But a lot of people say, 'That's the kind of thinking that I want running this nation.'

Remember, kids. It's only stealing if you're black.

Trump Fails Again

Are you tired of winning yet?

The down-payment on construction of a border wall that President Donald Trump had sought has been dropped as part of the latest GOP proposal for a spending bill to prevent a government shutdown at the end of this week.

The latest offer by Republicans to Democrats in 11th-hour negotiations omits the $1 billion the White House had asked for to begin construction on a wall on the Southern border, three aides on Capitol Hill told NBC News. The request, a last minute demand, had threatened to blow up the negotiations as Democrats said that they would not pass a government funding bill with money for a wall included.

The proposal still includes $3 billion for border security — money for Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Customs and Border Patrol programs, including technology and road construction along the border.

The man is a failure. Everything he touches turns into shit covered in sand mixed with piss and vinegar. Only a white man could fail like this and end up with anything to show for it--that's the American way for far too many flimflam men. Trump has been bailed out on a regular basis by lawyers, foreign investors, and the suckers who believe he is going to turn things around. Bankruptcy, lies, stiffing people, and bullshit are the business model for all Trump endeavors. In this direction you will find nothing but ruin and a confused old man, talking about his ratings.

Who voted for this? Well, plenty of people who are about to develop amnesia, that's who.

Being Polite Won't Get Their Foot Off Our Necks

Mel Robbins can go fuck herself sideways with a spoon:

We've reached a major tipping point in politics and there's no turning back.

Welcome to the Swear Zone.

Remember the good old days, when decorum was still intact? The days where without a hot mic we never would have heard George W. Bush call a reporter a "major-league asshole" or Joe Biden's aside to Barack Obama that passing health care reform was "a big fucking deal."

Those days are over. Politics are not only wildly unpredictable, they're NSFWAF. Blame Donald Trump for taking us to new lows, but here's something new: the Democrats are jumping deep in the mud with him.

Last weekend, for example, with children on stage behind him, Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez leaned right into a microphone and told an audience in Las Vegas that Trump "doesn't give a shit about health care." In Portland, Maine, Perez said, "They call it a skinny budget, I call it a shitty budget." Earlier this month the DNC began selling a t-shirt that read, "Democrats give a shit about people."

New York Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand appeared to agree: Of her Congressional cohort she told New York magazine "If we're not helping people, we should go the fuck home." Nice.

Aw, poor baby. The fainting couch is over there. Whenever someone in the media expresses disgust at your language, remember. These are the people who normalized Trump, laughed at Dick Cheney when he told Pat Leahy to "go fuck yourself" and believe that only a Republican Daddy should ever say anything salty.

Any journalist who is surprised that adults talk this way is incompetent or living in a bubble from which only wide-eyed innocents should emerge.

If you're going to stand up for the American people against the Republican Party, being polite and nice is no longer an option. These are the people who have embraced racism, sexism, and a president who grabs them by the pussy. Democrats are going to oppose this agenda, and they're going to speak in blunt terms to the American people. Vote Republican, and you'll soon find out that they really don't give a flying fuck about you. Vote Democrat, and we'll make it our business to give a shit about you.

    Sorry about your fee-fees.

    Chris Cillizza is a Lickspittle

Chris Cillizza is, for all intents and purposes, the new lickspittle over at CNN. Here, he boldly defends Ivanka Trump for no apparent reason:

During an appearance on a panel discussion in Germany on Tuesday,Ivanka Trump was booed and hissed at when she offered a defense of her father's policies regarding paid leave for women in the workplace.

"That is something I'm very proud of my father's advocacy, long before he came into the presidency, he championed this in the primaries," Ivanka Trump said of President Trump. "He's been a tremendous champion of supporting families and enabling them to thrive."

She was interrupted at that point. She went on to add:

"I've certainly heard the criticism from the media and that's been perpetuated, but I know from personal experience, and I think the thousands of women who have worked with and for my father for decades when he was in the private sector are a testament to his belief and solid conviction in the potential of women and their ability to do the job as well as any man."

The easiest course here would be to pillory Ivanka. After all, it's indisputable that her father has said things, repeatedly, about women that all people should acknowledge are unacceptable. His comments in the "Access Hollywood" tape, his regular references to women as "pigs", and his comments about Carly Fiorina's looks during the 2016 primaries have zero defenders. And Donald Trump has apologized for a total of none of them.

Trump's actions as president also seem to be sending a very clear signal. He's signed legislation taking aim at Planned Parenthood and other organizations that provide abortions. He' also rolled back the 2014 Fair Pay and Safe Workplaces order signed by President Obama.

But, it's important to remember that Ivanka is, first and foremost, her father's daughter. As such, she is going to defend him -- as would almost every daughter in any situation in which her dad is under attack. And, whatever you think of the Trumps, it's beyond debate that they are a very close-knit family who always sticks together.

Someone has to stick up for the corrupt, conflict-of-interest laden offspring of the President, and, by God, Chris Cillizza is going to do that, and he doesn't care if you point out the fact that Ivanka Trump has no foreign policy experience beyond selling her brand to people in exchange for cold, hard cash. And yet, when I read this piece, I have to say--what the hell is wrong with Ivanka Trump? How can she defend any man who grabs them by the pussy? Well, when your dad is doing the pussy grabbing, you gotta dance with them what brung you. There are ethics, and then there's what's good for making money, and that's what the Trumps are about. You'd think a major news organization would organize itself to defend the public from this, but then, you'd be wrong.

Do we really need someone to bend the knee to the Trump Regime? How does that advance the cause of journalism in 2017?

Cillizza isn't a journalist, of course. He's CNN's latest hire away from the newspaper industry--a hack who will defend his hackery with the best hacks in the business. Why they went for this clown is anyone's guess. Apparently, CNN needs more hackery. Well, Cillizza is your guy. A lickspittle for our times, a defender of daughters, but only if they go to Germany and make a fool of themselves talking about our Pussy Grabber in Chief.

No word yet on whether or not Cillizza is marketing his "Mad Bitch Beer" out there on the free market.

The Democratic Party is the Party of Choice

You can put me in the category of "hell no" when it comes to what Bernie Sanders is trying to sell:

The reviews of the Democratic National Committee's national "unity tour" with Sen. Bernie Sanders and Chairman Tom Perez have been mostly negative. The Republican National Committee flooded reporters' inboxes with bad headlines from the past week and even the liberal New Republic declared the effort "failed."

There was plenty of grist for the critics: Boos for Perez; blowback from pro-choice groups for Sanders; and even, as if proving the curse, the collapse of an American flag behind Perez during a live interview on MSNBC.

The whole point of the latest endeavor was to put Perez, the new party chief, in front of Sanders' most loyal supporters in key spots around the country to try to begin to earn their trust — even if that starts with letting them vent. Thousands turned out to see the Vermont senator in Portland, Miami and Las Vegas, where the tour concluded Saturday. Perez was the opening act; Sanders the closer.

Whether each of them likes it or not, the Democratic party and Sanders will need each other to survive in Donald Trump's America.

Sanders is the most popular politician in either party, several recent polls have found. More than four-in-10 Democrats — about 13 million people —  him over Clinton in last year's primary, and they've stuck with him with a loyalty that any politician would envy.

"Four in Ten" is a polite way of pointing out that Sanders lost, and was buried in the primary, despite the overwhelmingly negative interference of pro-Trump and pro-Russian "fake news" bots. Sanders continued his primary fight well into the spring months AFTER he had lost any chance at the nomination, and if he had bowed out when the race was lost, it would be more like "three in ten."

Give me a break with this guy. He's popular because he promises the moon without paying for the ride there.

We need "saving?" We won the popular vote. We'll adjust and win the Electoral College the next time around. We elected Barack Obama twice. We don't need saving. We need the fucking FBI and the Russians to get their goddamned thumbs off the scale. That trick worked once and it ain't working again.

I'm sorry, but fuck this shit. The reproductive rights of women are under assault everywhere in this country where there's a white Republican male who fears that he hasn't done enough to alienate women and frighten the base of the Democratic Party. Bernie Sanders better realize one thing--this is a pro-choice party. We may be accepting of candidates that oppose abortion, but that's only because there are certain areas of rural America that are insane. Otherwise, no--we are not going to abandon women to their fate. This party better stand up for Planned Parenthood and it better stand up for the rights of women.

Otherwise, what's the point? And being extreme is no vice. How many pro-choice Republicans are there, really? Are they running anything? Are they in charge of anything important?

      Awful

Have you ever, in your life, seen such insanity?

      Good God.

They Love the Trumps But Hate the Clintons

The Clintons gave us peace and prosperity, safety and security, health care for children, and jobs, jobs, jobs. The Trumps are handing us a bill for their many conflicts of interest, the ruination they are inviting upon us, and the extra hefty price we will pay for our declining influence in the world. The question is, who would want the Clintons to go away except people who want more starvation and horror in the world:

Since losing the most winnable presidential election in modern American history, Hillary Clinton has, among other things: given a series of high-profile speeches, joined Gov. Cuomo at his public unveiling of tuition-free college, refused to rule out a run for mayor of New York and issued an online video message exhorting fellow Democrats to fight on in her name.

“The challenges we face,” she said, “as a country and a party, are real.”

Clearly, Hillary still sees herself as the leader of the Democratic Party. And why shouldn’t she? Democrats have been locked in an abusive relationship with the Clintons for decades, enabling, explaining, convincing themselves that next time will be different. Party faithful hew to Hillary’s excuses for losing to Donald Trump: It’s James Comey’s fault, plus the Russians, white supremacists, misogynists, the deplorables and immobilized millennials, among other things.

Her losses in 2008 and 2016 have been framed as things that happened to Hillary — not one, but two Black Swan events that stymied her historic destiny.

How is it that Democrats have fealty here, let alone sympathy? How is it that Hillary routinely walks into standing ovations at Broadway theaters? Where is the realization that Hillary is to blame or the rational rejection of a two-time loser?

Here's what this idiot does not understand--we've seen the Clinton's tax returns. We will never see Donald Trump's tax returns. Therein lies a huge difference in terms of who should really go away.

As for the election, no, I don't blame Hillary for losing. The funny thing is, were it not for those thumbs on the scale, Hillary would be president. As Democrats, our fealty is to facts and reason. The fact is, the election was stolen. The fact is, we'd be better off with Hillary as president. The fact is, millions are waking up to this and they're voting with their feet. Did you miss those protests?

Why would we blame the victim? Why wouldn't we blame the most incompetent president in history for stealing the election now that we know he stole the election?

If you did, then you're engaged in intellectual dishonesty. And, in a year's time, there won't be but a handful of people who will admit to voting for Trump, and most of those will be the dead-enders, that 33% of Americans who will never sway in their opinion that even the worst president is exactly what they've always wanted.

The people who want the Clintons to go away love having more evil in the world. They love seeing minorities beaten down, they love seeing the LGBTQ community lose their legal protections, they love seeing immigrants being driven away en masse, and they love seeing sick people lose their health care. They love the racism that comes with Trump. They love seeing the rivers on fire with poison and they love it when some jackass rolls coal down the middle of the road. They love guns, hate their neighbors, and want to keep winning like Trump says they are.

      Fuck that shit.

Horrible People Say Horrible Things About Each Other

Everything that ever went wrong with America is captured here:

"I told him then, I said, ‘She’s the devil, and she will turn on you,'" the Trump strategist reportedly said of Kelly.

President Donald Trump's chief strategist, Steve Bannon, has opened up about the rift between his political website Breitbart and Fox News — and he blames Megyn Kelly.

In a recent interview with Politico, Bannon said, "The big rift between Breitbart and Fox was all over Megyn Kelly. She was all over Trump nonstop.”

Could this be the reason for his warning?

On how Trump's election has empowered white nationalists and the "alt-right" movement

It is also a dangerous game to empower them, as clearly has happened. I mean, Steve Bannon is the chief adviser to our president-elect, and I understand the argument that he's just a provocateur and he comes up with these crazy headlines and they want clicks, but if you look at what's happened to Breitbart [News] over the last three years, it's shocking.

I knew Andrew Breitbart very well and he was great. I loved him. He was a true provocateur who would be fun about it, you know. He'd show up at a democratic protest and engage with the protesters and then he'd go have a beer with them. This is something else entirely, and I don't know that Trump can stop it. I don't know who, if anyone, can stop it. I think right now the answer is for good people to exercise their own voice and their own power.

How do you "normalize" Andrew Breitbart? How do you call a woman the devil without being laughed at?

I find it hard to care about any of this, but I know, deep down in my heart, that God expects us to amuse ourselves to death any day now.

Emily Steel Has Made America a Better Place

If you don't know who Emily Steel is, I don't blame you. I had no idea who she was either. Steel is the reporter who is responsible for driving Bill O'Reilly off the air:

In an episode of the Daily podcast from the Times after O'Reilly's ouster, Steel described spending months investigating the claims against the host in the face of "resistance" from the network.

"We were just trying to follow the facts of our story," Steel said. "We really had to dig to get this information. There's a reason why these settlements were for so much money, was to keep these women from talking. There was a lot of resistance."

According to Steel, she was surprised when O'Reilly was fired. The network has protected its marquee host for a long time, she said, through past allegations and other controversies.

In 2015, Mother Jones alleged that O'Reilly had falsely claimed to have reported from the Falklands in 1982 — and even saved his photographer while covering the war — when he had instead apparently covered protests in Buenos Aires. O'Reilly threatened Steel on the record to come after her with "everything I have" if he felt her subsequent coverage for the Timeswas inappropriate.

In a day and age where there aren't many heroes, Emily Steel certainly deserves our thanks for doing something few people would have the guts to do.

      Carter Page is Small Potatoes

There's a certain genius to how this scandal is unfolding. Carter Page is going to be the linchpin of the case against Trump and his campaign. They stole the 2016 election and they damned near ended up with a Russian spy embedded in the foreign policy apparatus of the Executive Branch of government. But, really, this "backdoor to Russia" guy is small potatoes:

According to a CNN report, Russian operatives sought to “infiltrate” the Trump campaign through its advisers, using “backdoor channels.” Citing U.S. officials, CNN reports that FBI intelligence-gathering led to the conclusion. One such adviser was Carter Page, but it was unclear whether Page knew he was being used by the Russians. It is possible, the network reported, that Page “unknowingly” spoke with Russian operatives. “My assumption throughout the last 26 years I’ve been going there has always been that any Russian person might share information with the Russian government... as I have similarly done with the CIA, the FBI and other government agencies in the past,” Page said.

Page will flip, I assure you of that. He doesn't have the money, the connections, or the intelligence to do twenty to life to keep the Trump people out of Federal prison. Flynn, Manafort, Stone, Sessions, et al--those are the people who will see themselves on the business end of real inquiry into what went on. They are traitors, never forget that, and they have sat at Trump's table for so long, it's a wonder he doesn't rage-tweet more than he does.

We have to keep our eyes on the prize. This is getting bigger and bigger, and when it explodes, it will be the biggest thing since Watergate, and it won't have anything to do with the Clintons.

      White Trash Mocks Accomplished Woman

This is how conservatives act in the White House. Like trash, brought in there by other trash who are there temporarily.

The sum total of the public accomplishments of the three individuals posing in front of the First Lady's portrait are laughably miniscule. Kid Rock? Ted Nugent? Sarah Palin?

Clearly, this was not just a one-off kind of a thing. They posed from several different angles and wanted their social media trophy--a photo mocking the former First Lady. What have they done for this country, other than milk money out of suckers in exchange for half-assed music, half-assed conservativism, and half-assed entertainment?

Before any of these people knew who she was, Hillary Clinton had already done more for children than any of these three idiots will ever do in their entire lives.

Oh, and hats? Indoors? At the White House? What the hell is wrong with these people?

Jason Chaffetz is Running Away From His Problems

The only politicians in America who can get away with hypocrisy are Republican males:

Utah Rep. Jason Chaffetz — who shocked the political establishment when he announced his retirement earlier this week — said that he has already started looking for post-congressional employment, and hopes to serve on boards of directors and link up with a television network.

“I started poking around to see what I might be worth and what sort of possibilities are there,” Chaffetz said in a phone interview with POLITICO Thursday afternoon. “And I got a series of ‘Let us know when you’re serious.’ Well now I can say, ‘Can you tell I am serious?’… I’ll take a little bit of time to sort out. I’d be thrilled to have a television relationship. But there’s a number of things I’d like to do.”

The hypocrisy here centers around the ethical use of influence in our politics. He was quick to call every Democrat a crook who was cashing in, but here he is, cashing in. And he'd really like to get paid while he runs away from his problems and having people from his district yell at him.

Chaffetz, 50, is leaving a high-profile perch. He is the chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee — the top investigatory body in the chamber. He was first elected to the House in 2008, and signaled to reporters that he would stay in Washington until he reached his term limit atop the committee.

But a series of strange events unfolded over the past few days. He first announced in a Facebook post that he wouldn’t run for any office in 2018, and now, he is saying that he might leave Congress in the next couple of months.

“I might depart early,” he said in the interview. “It’s not tomorrow, it’s not next week. If it is, it’s going to be in the months to come.”

Asked if he is resigning because of a yet-to-be revealed scandal, Chaffetz said, “Absolutely, positively not.

“Not in any way shape or form,” he said. “I’ve been given more enemas by more people over the last eight years than you can possibly imagine. From the Secret Service to the Democratic Party. I am who I am. If they had something really scandalous, it would’ve come out a long, long time ago.”

This guy is fifty? I thought he was in his thirties. Must be the blood of the young that he drinks. He's desperately interested in finding out the truth about everything except what Donald Trump and his family are looting from the treasury. If anything, his inability to do his job means that, not only is he a hypocrite, he's a lazy one at that.

      Turn Over Your E-mail Database

In February, Sanders would not commit to sharing his campaign's resources with the Democratic Party. Pressure should be applied to Bernie Sanders with regards to allowing the Democratic National Committee to have access to the E-mail database his campaign built last year:

Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez and Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders headed to Louisville, Kentucky, on Tuesday night for the second stop of their weeklong "Come Together and Fight Back" tour.

The evening was billed as a joint event, but it was evident from attendees that Sanders was the main draw. Three hours before it kicked off, for example, many "Feel the Bern" T-shirt-wearing folks had lined up outside the Louisville Palace.

I mean, if you want us to come together, then help us build a donor database that will fund the new 50 State Strategy, right? Or will it be more of this:

Sanders' team sued the Democratic National Committee over voter rolls, and his campaign manager called for the party chairwoman to resign. When Sanders was unable to make inroads with the party's superdelegates, he and his faithful talked about the "rigged" party system, and even after he endorsed Hillary Clinton and campaigned on her behalf, it was almost always on the party's terms.

Put up or shut up. If you're going to trash Democrats, at least give us a reacharound first. Oh, and let's not have Tad Devine involved, either. We've seen what people aligned with the Russians can do to American democracy.

      This is Exactly Right

Somehow, it got lost in the shuffle this week that the 2016 election was something Hillary Clinton lost.

      No.

It was stolen. It was stolen by James Comey, the Russians, and by the media.

This is exactly right and I endorse this idea entirely. So many people are trying to cover their ass right now that there's little or no chance we're going to get an honest assessment of what happened last year. Hell, will we ever get one?

These same journalists would find fault with Clinton if she had won the Electoral College and won the presidency but lost the popular vote; they would claim that she really "lost" the race and thus has no mandate. Or some such nonsense.

Really, when you get right down to it, we don't even know the whole story yet. The truth is out there, but it's taking a long time to get here.

There is No Command and Control of Our Military Right Now

This is what happens when you elect an incompetent boob to the presidency:

On April 9, as tension between the U.S. and North Korea over missile tests rose, the U.S. announced it was dispatching the USS Carl Vinson, an aircraft carrier, and its retinue, toward the Korean peninsula.  “U.S. Pacific Command ordered the Carl Vinson Strike Group north as a prudent measure to maintain readiness and presence in the Western Pacific,” a Navy spokesman said at the time.

There was one flaw in the plan, as The New York Times reports:

The problem was, the carrier, the Carl Vinson, and the four other warships in its strike force were at that very moment sailing in the opposite direction, to take part in joint exercises with the Australian Navy in the Indian Ocean, 3,500 miles southwest of the Korean Peninsula.

The result is the sort of thing that would comical if it didn’t involve nuclear brinkmanship. The announcement of the Vinson’s movement jacked up the tension between Washington and Pyongyang, which called the travel “reckless” and thundered, in a statement to CNN, “We will make the U.S. fully accountable for the catastrophic consequences that may be brought about by its high-handed and outrageous acts.” Had the North Korean government, unsure how to interpret Trump’s tough rhetoric, actually started a hot war, the Vinson would have been 3,500 miles away, rather than ready to act.

Guess what happens the next time one of our allies expects us to do what we say we're going to do--they'll just laugh and go their own way. We have no credibility. We have no one in charge. We have people for whom lying is the standard and treason will be tolerated.

The standards for every subsequent Democratic Party president are now so low--and should be considered practically non-existent--that I am going to completely and utterly blow a gasket when some future Republican Party sycophant criticizes some future Democratic President of so much as failing to return a crisp salute when walking down the steps of Marine One.

They lost an American aircraft carrier? Pshaw. We're going to have to apply a standard form of skepticism to every utterance from this regime. King Leer himself is losing his kingdom, and maybe we should start preparing for armageddon or simple economic meltdown just in case.

A Murderer's Row of Distinctly Horrible Human Beings

I know that this is an old photo, but the story behind it is still fascinating.

When it was released during the presidential election, you would have thought that Michael Flynn's association with Trump would have been a bigger issue. It wasn't. It was no big thing for Republicans, who have embraced traitors as if there was nothing to it all. The Republican Party is the party of treason. Straight up. Flynn waltzed into the position of National Security Advisor and only lost it because the heat got turned up on his foreign dealings--his "treason in exchange for cash" deals.

We lost our minds last year--look no further than the plaintive cry, "but, her e-mails!" We have traitors in charge of our government, traitors all throughout the institutions that are supposed to keep us safe. Those same people looked at this photo, saw Flynn sitting at that table, and held their nose and voted for Trumpism.

History is going to be particularly unkind to the two Americans at Putin's table. And if you think Jill Stein is anything other than the scum of the Earth, I feel sorry for you. I feel bad that you fell for a far-left plotter and intriguer who couldn't be bothered to wipe the blood from her hands after dining with these cutthroat murderers.

Mike Pence Can Murder Commies With His Eyes

Mike Pence isn't just the Vice President of the United States. He's a rock-hard man of seriousness, and he's here to stare down our enemies and make them pee all over themselves:

Vice President Mike Pence made a surprise trip the Korean Demilitarized Zone on Monday, reportedly breaking his security plan in order to get a closer look at North Korean troops amid increased tensions in the region.

Wearing a leather bomber jacket, Pence ventured outside and appeared to stare daggers at Kim Jong-Un’s soldiers.

The vice president wasn’t supposed to go outside, but he told his security detail it was something he wanted to see, CNN reported.

No word yet on how many of North Korea's soldiers collapsed as if Charles Xavier himself had turned their minds to peanut butter. But, let's not forget that the Vice President unnecessarily exposed the U.S. Secret Service and a handful of Eighth Army officers to men trained to shoot guns at human beings in exchange for meager amounts of food and shelter.

What God fearing man carouses about a foreign country in a leather jacket given to him as a gift, surrounded only by men, by the way? Oh, this guy. He's a real hoot, let me tell ya.

Oh, and Facebook being what it is, this post has already been misunderstood as "serious." As in, people would seriously think that Pence's stare would frighten the North Koreans guarding their half of the DMZ. Sheesh!

North Korea is a Fake Problem Created by Desperate Men

North Korea is a tissue tiger and it is more of a threat to its own people than it is to anyone else. It is a poor, backwards country that is held together with terror and a cult of personality revolving around a morbidly obese third-generation fool. It is a fake problem created by the Trump regime's fever dream about looking tough:

Hours after North Korea paraded its weaponry and attempted a missile launch, President Trump's national security adviser said the U.S. leader will not allow Kim Jong Un’s regime to have the capacity to threaten the U.S.

"While it's unclear and we do not want to telegraph in any way how we'll respond to certain incidents, it's clear that the president is determined not to allow this kind of capability to threaten the United States," Lt. Gen. H. R. McMaster told ABC News' Martha Raddatz in an exclusive interview on "This Week" Sunday. "Our president will take action that is in the best interest of the American people."

North Korea rolled out ballistic missiles and other weaponry at a huge parade Saturday and later in the day, at 5:21 p.m. ET, made a failed attempt to shoot off a missile, which exploded immediately after launch.

McMaster said the launch "fits a pattern of provocative and destabilizing and threatening behavior on the part of the North Korean regime."

"I think there's an international consensus now, including the Chinese and the Chinese leadership, that this is a situation that just can't continue. And the president has made clear that he will not accept the United States and its allies and partners in the region being under threat from this hostile regime with nuclear weapons," said McMaster, who spoke from Kabul, Afghanistan.

This "provocative and destabilizing and threatening behavior" has been going on since the 1950s. They can now set off underground nuclear weapons. So what?  North Korea is surrounded by nation/states that can wipe it from the map if it detonates an above-ground weapon that affects anyone except for North Korean territory itself. There is no crisis here, only an opportunity for the Trump people to fall on their face in front of the world trying to solve a problem no one cares about.

China, Japan, and South Korea all care about one thing--markets, trade, and economic prosperity. They tolerate North Korea because they are all getting the raw materials needed to continue building their economies, one way or another. To have a poor, backwards country in their midst ready to sell everything they have is by design otherwise they would have found a solution decades ago. The fact that the U.S. has been caught up in this is proof we're getting something out of it, too.

      So what?

You're telling me that, all of a sudden, North Korea is a front page problem we have to deal with immediately? Please. Trump needs a war to stave off public opinion. Why let him manufacture one?

If we provoke North Korea, they'll rain destruction down on everything within range of their military forces on the border between the two countries. South Korea will suffer immediately, and the region will become destabilized. The world will feel the loss of South Korea's economy within days or weeks. Why provoke this? Why start this now?

      It's asinine.

And shame on General McMaster. His presence among these maniacs does not mean he won't be held responsible for carrying out the policies that are leading us down this road. In any decent administration, he wouldn't behave this way because he wouldn't have to. Carrying water for Donald Trump is going to continue to put people on the wrong side of history and the law.

      The Alt-Right Will Consume Itself

If you live by the sword, chances are you're going to die by the sword:

A week after President Donald Trump began to publicly distance himself from White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon, alt-right ringleader Mike Cernovich threatened to release a “motherlode” of stories that could “destroy marriages” if Bannon is formally let go from the administration.

Cernovich made the claims that he’d release a series of “scoops” if Bannon is officially pushed out of the White House on an eleven-minute, self-recorded Periscope Thursday night.

“If they get rid of Bannon, you know what’s gonna happen? The motherlode. If Bannon is removed, there are gonna be divorces, because I know about the mistresses, the sugar babies, the drugs, the pill popping, the orgies. I know everything,” said Cernovich.

“If they go after Bannon, the mother of all stories is gonna drop, and we’re just gonna destroy marriages, relationships—it’s gonna get personal.”

The Daily Beast reached out to Cernovich, asking who he meant by “they” and if he had documentation for the claims. He was on InfoWars’ radio show and livestream most of Friday afternoon, and did not respond at press time.

It has become politically expedient for Trump to abandon the alt-right, and you knew this day was coming. You knew that a fringe hate group would be unable to influence policy in a country that skews moderate on most of the issues. So, this is just the natural result of running for president as a racist--your racist friends are baggage, and getting rid of them means hurting some feelings.

Cernovich wouldn't have been hired or considered for anything in a McCain or a Romney administration, but they sure love leaking things to him under Trump. Want to plug the leaks? You get rid of everyone aligned with the alt-right. Unfortunately, that leaves a lot of low energy mooks in the West Wing.

I would guess that Cernovich has, literally, nothing to threaten people with. If he does, what kind of a sick fuck compiles information on his own side in the age of hacking? Oh, yeah. Someone who thinks that a pedo ring is being run out of a family pizza restaurant.

Facebook Moves Against Fake Users and Fake News

      It's about time:

Facebook has shut down 30,000 fake accounts tied to France, citing deceptive content and misinformation, ahead of the country's presidential election this month, the company said Thursday.

Citing the mission of "protecting authenticity" the social media giant revealed ramped up efforts to stop the spread of fake news, hoaxes, and spam through fake accounts, which "enabled us to take action" against the French accounts, said the company in a statement

"We've found that when people represent themselves on Facebook the same way they do in real life, they act responsibly. Fake accounts don't follow this pattern," said the company.

New technology allows the company to recognize "inauthentic accounts more easily by identifying patterns of activity — without assessing the content itself," like detecting "repeated posting of the same content, or an increase in messages sent," according to the statement.

While the efforts won't single out every fake account, the company aims to target those with the "largest footprint" and most "broad reach."

After facing harsh criticism for the lack of intervention for the spread of fake news ahead of the U.S election, which critics said may have helped sway the results in favor of Donald Trump, Facebook upped its efforts in December.

You can say that this is too little, too late, and I wouldn't disagree with you. But, it's important to watch for the reconstituted fake news efforts in the weeks and months ahead. There is so much going on that it is difficult to keep up, but everyone should be vigilant.

Trump is Much Worse Than George W. Bush

I think Jonathan Chait is on the money here:

The ideological distance between Trump’s economic and foreign policy and George W. Bush’s has collapsed.

From the perspective of 2017, more than eight years after Bush departed office, the comparison between the two presidents may sound comforting. That is largely because Bush has disappeared into his painting studio, his reputation benefitting from both his general absence from the political scene and the particular contrast with his frightening, orange quasi-nemesis. It is easy to look back on Bush’s tenure as comparatively benign — but Bush’s presidency was a period of gross misgovernance. His legacy includes not only Iraq and Katrina, but his obsession with cutting taxes for the rich, a comprehensive fealty to the business lobby, rampant corruption, refusal to take any steps to limit climate change, and a deregulatory agenda that set the conditions for the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression.

The Bush presidency was the most comprehensive governing failure of any administration since at least Herbert Hoover, and it ought to have poisoned the party’s national brand as deeply as it did Hoover’s GOP (which did not win another presidential election for twenty years). But the Republican Party managed to largely skirt the reputational fallout from the Bush catastrophe. It did so, in part, through the tea party: Conservatives hailed right-wing protests against Barack Obama as a call for ideological purity, cleansing the supposed big-government, cronyist tendencies of the Bush administration. The Republican Party of the Obama era insisted it had learned the lessons of the Bush years, when its agenda had devolved into little more than shoveling cash to K Street. The post-Bush GOP was allegedly sadder and wiser and filled with righteous abhorrence for the temptations of lobbyists and deficit spending.

The evidence suggests that Trump's regime (it is not an administration, because that word has some basis in respecting institutions and the rule of law) is utterly lawless and unhinged and virtually unstaffed at every level. It is inherently racist at all levels, and none more so than in the office of the Attorney General. The U.S. Department of Justice is in the hands of an elfin white supremacist who simply hasn't the time to put on his hood before showing up for work. Incompetent reigns at all levels under Trump. In the Bush Administration, when officials were proven to be incompetent, they were actually fired.

For example, consider the case of Michael "Brownie" Brown and his inept leadership at FEMA. In the Bush Administration, which was awful at every level, a Brownie gets hired, is given a chance to dismantle or disrupt the organization, and is expected to make everything reflect well enough on Bush to keep the media at bay. When it was apparent that Brown was incompetent, he was fired, but only after lengthy deliberations.

In a Trump regime, not only is Brownie kept on the job, he can expect a promotion if he can steal for Trump and his children, satisfy his handlers in Moscow, and associate openly with Nazis, public masturbators, wife beaters, pussy grabbers, winos and thugs. A Trump appointee must ignore the law, defy the media, and look good on television. Therein lies the difference.

      It's a Trap!

Someone should warn Mike Pence not to go where Trump is going to start another war:

U.S. Vice President Mike Pence will travel to South Korea on Sunday in what his aides said was a sign of the U.S. commitment to its ally in the face of rising tensions over North Korea's nuclear program.

Pence's Seoul stop kicks off a long-planned 10-day trip to Asia - his first as vice president - and comes amid concerns that Pyongyang could soon conduct its sixth nuclear test.

President Donald Trump has warned against further provocations, sending an aircraft carrier group to the region as a show of force. His officials have been assessing tougher economic sanctions as well as military options to curb North Korea's nuclear ambitions.

This is how Jared Kushner gets rid of Pence and takes the job of Vice President for himself because Pence has fallen for the oldest trick in the book (it's the one where you send your Vice President somewhere and then start a war, I think). We will discover shortly thereafter that Pence was the mastermind behind everything that has gone wrong, up to and including the bankruptcy filings and the marriage to Marla Maples.

As soon as Pence lands, Trump and Kushner will tell the Navy to start shooting at North Korea or something dumb like that and then it will be time to go play golf. I don't think Bannon makes these calls anymore.

Trump has to find a way to get rid of everyone who can link him to Russia. What better way than to send his closest advisors to future war zones? Watch for more tactical moves like this in the weeks ahead.

      The Flip Floppin' Flim-Flam Man

This Trump fellow is on every side of every issue all the time:

President Donald Trump and his staff reversed or walked back at least six campaign positions on Wednesday.

Ranging from monetary to budget to defense policy, the reversals culminated at an afternoon press conference with North Atlantic Treaty Organizationsecretary general Jens Stoltenberg, where Trump said he no longer believes that the landmark defense pact is “obsolete.”

NATO has retooled itself to place greater emphasis on terrorism, the president explained. “I said it was obsolete. It’s no longer obsolete,” he said

“I complained about that along time ago and they made a change, and now they do fight terrorism” Trump claimed as White House chief strategist Stephen Bannon and senior advisor Stephen Miller, stalwarts of Trump’s brand of America-First populism, looked on from the audience.

What does this mean? Hell if I know. You can read Trump's old tweets and laugh your ass off, but, really, it's just sad. Sad because Trump's old tweets are proof he never should have been elected in the first place.

We are witnessing the interesting times, aren't we? These are bug-fuck crazy men and women, wild with hate and desperate for cash, and every one of them is spiraling out of control like a crystal meth addict down to their last fifty grand. It really does seem like the insane, white nationalist streak that ran through the Trump Regime until five minutes ago was directed by Steve Bannon until he became a liability. Everything seems to be Kushner-fied. It turns out that Bannon is now relegated to hiding behind the drapes, trying to apply smoothing cream to his face so that, when he gets on television, he won't look like someone beat him with a iron. Up against the handsome Jared, what's a thug gotta do?

Does Trump Know We're Already in Syria?

      Trump said this:

Amid complaints that his aides are saying different things about Syria and his policy is confusing, President Trump emphatically cleared the air.

“We’re not going into Syria,” he told me yesterday in an exclusive interview. “Our policy is the same — it hasn’t changed. We’re not going into Syria.”

      We're in Syria.

The United States is sending an additional 400 troops to Syria to help prepare for the looming fight for Raqqa, the capital of the Islamic State’s self-proclaimed caliphate, American officials said on Thursday.

      I got nothin'.

I Think They Can Fire Spicey Now

It's Passover. The Trump Regime is filled with Nazis, like Sebastian Gorka. They just went through a controversy over the Holocaust where they, um, forgot to mention the Jewish people. They have a real, and verifiable, problem with failing to accurately note and honor actual human history. And Sean Spicer is a complete and utter boob. So, now that the stage has been set, let's fill a dumpster with tires, gasoline, and precious things and set it all on fire.

No, keep going with this. I really want to see how big of a hole you can dig:

In criticizing Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's alleged use of chemical weapons, White House press secretary Sean Spicer said Tuesday that even Adolf Hitler did not sink to that level of warfare, despite Hitler's use of gas chambers to kill millions of Jews.

When given the chance to clarify his comment — uttered during Passover, the most celebrated Jewish holiday in the United States — Spicer then said Hitler took Jews “into the Holocaust center” but that Hitler “was not using the gas on his own people in the same way that Assad is doing.”

Spicer brought up Hitler unprompted during Tuesday's White House briefing while emphasizing how seriously the United States takes Assad's use of chemical weapons.

“We didn't use chemical weapons in World War II. You know, you had a, you know, someone as despicable as Hitler who didn't even sink to using chemical weapons,” Spicer said. “So you have to if you're Russia, ask yourself: Is this a country that you, and a regime, that you want to align yourself with? You have previously signed onto international agreements, rightfully acknowledging that the use of chemical weapons should be out of bounds by every country.”

People who don't know history are the first to try and use it to make a point that is, ultimately, going to bite them in the ass. If Sean Spicer still has a job tomorrow, then you know there are no standards anymore--just assholes who keep their jobs no matter what.

(and, of course that's Melissa McCarthy--why would you use a real picture of Spicer?)

Nobody is Coming to Save Us

“Where are our Men of abilities? Why do they not come forth to save their Country?”

      ― George Washington

Don't hate the media, become the media.

      --Jello Biafra

I go through cycles where I feel like I have to stop writing about national politics in order to maintain my sanity. What has changed my outlook on this is realizing that nobody is going to save us, so we have to save ourselves. The elites, the law, and the institutions that kept us safe have all failed. Even if the FBI finds something, so what? It will be denied, it will be delayed, and a Supreme Court now stolen and stacked will serve as Trump's firewall.

I have seen people lose their minds over this. We have to unify and fight against the evil that delivered us Trumpism. This fight needs to unfold at the local, state, and national levels. It is the civic duty of every American to pay attention because this shit matters.

Facebook is going through another phase where unsophisticated users are amplifying "fake news" stories from disreputable sites. I had to spend a handful of hours over the weekend disinfecting my feed. Something about that "I Heart PBS" sticker sets me off now. It seems to be a common touchstone for the foreign-based trolls that have seized the accounts of dead people. Formerly reasonable people who were actively involved in simple but civic-minded groups are now rabid Bernie Bots or anti-liberal maniacs. They went from supporting Hillary and Democrats to being mouth-foaming berserkers. This is what I have observed on my own, so consider this mere anecdotal evidence that American political civic engagement online continues to be under some sort of attack from the outside.

Friend requests come up daily, and they're usually one of two kinds--the half-naked lady with a man's name or someone who is now, all of a sudden, philosophically aligned with whatever someone working for Russia would think can manipulate liberals. These fake or hijacked profiles have proliferated because the sponsors of those sites, likely some sort of contractor for the Russian government, are desperate for impact and to make people question their loyalty to the Democratic Party. It isn't 2016 anymore--it's happening right now because the Russians know they have the advantage.

Bernie Sanders has become an unwitting foil for the sort of activity that creates division. There are individuals actively engaged in making Hillary supporters hate Bernie and his supporters and that's absolute nonsense. I am a very vocal critic of Bernie Sanders and his followers. But they are not the enemy. Hillary isn't running and neither is Bernie. They're both finished. I believe the Democratic Party is ready for another version of President Obama--a young outsider with the ability to bring tens of thousands of people into arenas and turn out the vote. We need charisma, organization, and moral clarity. No one on the left is an enemy anymore because Trump is the enemy. If you want to cling to hope, then hope that enough people agree that Trump is the only one worth fighting.

The transition to this new reality comes with a decision. Do we allow Sanders to keep siphoning off funds for Democrats that are then used to advance the political fortunes of people who work from the far left against the Democratic Party? Jello Biafra gave his famous speech and delivered his notable quote--don't hate the media, become the media--to the Green Party. They're not getting my vote or my money because our only hope is to support Democrats who can win races. This means I encourage a reformed and reorganized Democratic National Committee to raise funds to support candidates in all 50 states and pursue the recapture of the House and Senate in 2018. If you want to be a pragmatist, you have to assume that there are going to be left-wing opponents. We have to fight apathy and we have to win the support of the far left.

Anything that goes against this process is what I oppose because it plays into the hands of Trump supporters. It should be the central organizing principle of every decent American to take control of Congress. The only chance civilization has is to hand someone like Adam Schiff the chairmanship of the House Intelligence Committee and so on and so forth. If Bernie isn't on board with that, we have a problem. I believe he is, so I'm going to withhold my criticism for now. I'm not going to react to him on a daily basis. He is not going to run in 2020, but if he does, he's a fool

Continuing the fight between Bernie and Hillary is not going to solve anything because she's not going to run, either (and if she does, then she's as big of a fool as Bernie). How do you motivate yourself to keep up the good fight when there are so many sinister actors on the fringes? How do you write about these things? The process has become exhausting and overwhelmed with negativity. You can see it in the non-reaction that you get when you publish something. I think it comes down to the fact that people want escape. They want a break from what's been happening. Eighty days of Trumpism has broken the back of the American attention span.

It is essential to remain engaged, but not with insane assholes.

It is vital to guard against cynicism, but you'd better learn to be a realist. Fast.

Human beings are going to die from lack of health care, starve from being left hungry, and destroyed by out of control policing if we don't remain focused on the political and social arena. You're not just fighting for yourself--you're fighting for civilization when you protest and remain engaged.

Do you want to be one of the people sitting on that United Airlines flight, watching the police beat a man bloody? Do you want to sit there with a shit-eating grin, happy it isn't them on the other end of the violence? Do you want to check out and give up and walk away from what matters?

Civic engagement matters at every level. You can disconnect completely from national affairs and stay involved at the local level. I respect and understand that. You can drop out for a while, and I'm a firm believer in taking breaks. We, as a people, can't walk away from what's happening.

You can't stop watching this train wreck, and you should not stop documenting the atrocities as they fly by. Literally, there will be three or five or nine atrocities committed by this regime and they will sail over people's heads. This is by design. They are ramming so many different horrible things down our throats that it is important and necessary to track them and understand them for future reference. Being engaged for the last nine years has meant that I can draw on experiences, and that's what infuriates me on a daily basis. The Republican Party threw sand in the gears every minute of every day, starting from Election Day 2008 and onwards. We're not supposed to fight the Trump Regime? Please. We will fight like it matters because it does.

Robert Bentley Should Have Gotten Twenty Years

Today, Robert Bentley resigned as governor of the State of Alabama.

Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley announced his resignation Monday in the face of impeachment hearings over allegations that he tapped state resources to facilitate and hide an extramarital affair with a former aide.

Bentley made the announcement, effective immediately, shortly after he was booked into Montgomery County Jail and pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor charges related to campaign finance rules. He was charged with one count of failure to disclose information on a statement of economic interest, and for failure to file campaign finance reports, according to AL.com.

Now, I don't know if you remember the name Don Siegelman, but, basically, Don was railroaded by the justice system in Alabama. He served in prison, and now he's out. If you compare Bentley's abuse of power to what they accused Siegelman of doing (which was, basically, governing while a Democrat), then the only logical conclusion was to demand that Bentley serve at least twenty years in prison. Anything less would be a complete and utter miscarriage of justice. And that's being lenient:

The four charges, which were referred to the Montgomery County District Attorney for further investigation, are largely vague. The Commission said one charge violated the State Ethics Law, and the other three violated campaign finance laws.

All of the charges are class B felonies punishable by up to 20 years in prison.

But, who are we kidding here? Bentley won't serve a day in jail. He's a Republican.

On Monday afternoon, Bentley was booked into Montgomery County Jail on two misdemeanor campaign finance charges. He pleaded guilty to failing to file a major campaign finance report and converting campaign money for personal use, was sentenced to a 30-day suspended sentence and 12 months of unsupervised probation, ordered to pay $50,000 in fines and must serve 100 hours of community service.

Fuckers, all of them. Bentley committed at least four felonies.

      We're Being Defunded

What have you been doing to prevent forest fires? Get off your dead ass and do something, otherwise there won't be anything left.

      Golf is For Losers

This was what Donald Trump had to say in September of 2013. Everything he has ever tweeted will put him on both sides of every issue, like the fool that he is.

In case you didn't hear it, Trump has now played golf at least 15 times since taking office

      Hello, World!

Don't Tell the Enemy What You're Going to Do

The U.S.S. Carl Vinson group is now headed to the Korean Peninsula.

A US aircraft carrier-led strike group is headed toward the Western Pacific Ocean near the Korean Peninsula, a US defense official confirmed to CNN.

The move of the Vinson strike group is in response to recent North Korean provocations, the official said.

Adm. Harry Harris, the commander of US Pacific Command, directed the USS Carl Vinson strike group to sail north to the Western Pacific after departing Singapore on Saturday, Pacific Command announced.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Trump say that, if he was president, he wouldn't tell the enemy what he was going to do? Remember when we bombed Syria? We told them what we were going to do.

Here's Trump, in 2003, explaining his own personal doctrine, while being fluffed by Neal Cavuto:

If you had to sort of breakdown for the president, if you were advising him, how much time do you commit [in the State of the Union] to Iraq versus how much time you commit to the economy, what would you say?

Trump: Well, I’m starting to think that people are much more focused now on the economy. They are getting a little bit tired of hearing, we’re going in, we’re not going in, the — you know, whatever happened to the days of the Douglas MacArthur. He would go and attack. He wouldn’t talk. We have to — you know, it’s sort like either do it or don’t do it. When I watch Dan Rather explaining how we are going to be attacking, where we’re going to attack, what routes we’re taking, what kind of planes we’re using, how to stop them, how to stop us, it is a little bit disconcerting. I’ve never seen this, where newscasters are telling you how — telling the enemy how we’re going about it, we have just found out this and that. It is ridiculous.

Cavuto: Well, the problem right there.

Trump: Either you attack or you don’t attack.

Cavuto: The problem there, Donald, is you’re watching Dan Rather. Maybe you should just be watching Fox.

Trump: Well, no, I watch Dan Rather, but not necessarily fondly. But I happened to see it the other night. And I must tell you it was rather amazing as they were explaining the different — I don’t know if it is fact or if it is fiction, but the concept of a newscaster talking about the routes is — just seems ridiculous. So the point is either you do it or you don’t do it, or you — but I just — or if you don’t do it, just don’t talk about it. When you do it, you start talking about it.

This is a theme he repeated on the campaign trail. Don't tell the enemy what you're going to do, is the gist of what he said, over and over. And yet, here we are, and I think people have a pretty good idea why an aircraft carrier strike force is headed to Korea.
