One of the features on Mainau Island (Lake Constance) is a large-scale train setup that you can activate for a euro coin. You put your coin in, and the trains run on the tracks for a set period of time.
This is a photo I took of one of the "happier" train stations. Someone painstakingly set up a random bunch of people, and then they put four plastic horses in an open car pulled by a caboose.
Weird, yes. But, strangely satisfying. I only parted with one euro coin.
