Rarely do I speak this way of the dead. However, the devil has a new acolyte:
Evangelist Oral Roberts, founder of the Oral Roberts Evangelistic Association and Oral Roberts University, died Tuesday from complications of pneumonia in Newport Beach, California, his spokeswoman said. He was 91.
Roberts’ son, Richard, and daughter Roberta were at his side, spokeswoman Melany Ethridge said in a statement.
Roberts had been hospitalized Monday following a fall on Saturday, in which he suffered broken bones, Ethridge said earlier, adding that he was being treated for pneumonia.
The man who used the threat of his own death to fleece money from the gullible and the lonely has been called home. Good riddance, and screw his corpse deep into that dirt, Mr. Gravedigger. Crooked and filthy rich until the very end, a man with the conscience of a weasel and the cash of a grifter. The charity he leaves behind grinds money out of the faithful, even today.
Remember, the Oral Roberts Evangelistic Association has an overall efficiency rating of exactly one out of four stars.
So long, you greedy old bastard. You will not be mourned by anyone decent. Your name will remain a profanity for all time. All of the days ahead are better now because of your recent demise.
