    Giving in to Unfounded Fears Does Not Show the Terrorists Anything

    If you want to defeat fundamentalism, throw the rule of law at it. Defeat it by demonstrating a belief in the institutions we have created in order to free us from a fear of religion, the unknown, the tyranny of dictators. This is a republic, founded on the principle of limited government and the rule of law. Putting someone on trial for their efforts to destroy that should be perfunctory. It should be a no-brainer. And, in the spirit of John Adams, give them the best lawyer and a fair trial.

    That, and only that, will defeat fundamentalism.

    We don’t live in the age of great men and great women. We live in the age of shivering piss-pants and cowards:
